Artist Statement
My work focuses on light and shadow, pattern and form, movement and stillness. A modern dancer by training, I’m drawn to the way these elements shape and carve physical space. I’m interested in both natural and built environments, and the intersection of the two - the angles and curves that occur as they adapt or reflect one another. How does the light change? How does movement affect form? What creates a sense of absence or presence? My end goal is to create an awareness of the world around us, our place in it, and to convey what it feels like to be there - the color of the light, the time of day, a sense of momentary stillness.
